There are 3 ways to clean façade i.e. water, chemical & abrasive treatments. And Abrasive treatments like grinding, sanding & blasting shall not used since they may affect by removing surface particle along with dirt.

Water

There are 3 water based ways of façade cleaning:

i) Pressure- wash
ii) Soaking
iii) Steam/hot pressurized wash

Chemicals

Chemical remove dirt very effectively when compared to water based cleaning, they are used to clean paint, metallic stains, and graffiti.  Acid based treatment and cleaning process is very effective on un-glazed bricks, terra cotta, cast stone, concrete, granite as well as sandstone.

Preparation Work

Prior the start of façade cleaning process at the building, the work must be analyzed according to the types of masonry on building, and then has to opt for best type of cleaning process. Identifying the types of stone used at building is very important, for instance certain lime-stone may resemble as sandstone, and cast stone or concrete may appear as natural stone.
